works on paper from India 2010
I am happy to present a new link to my website, a changing exhibition of small works on paper. For the past two years I have been recording my memories of recent journeys to India. Atmospheric mists, luminous reflections surround emerging structures that evoke shrine, cage, and the rickety sometimes graceful dwelling that is the human soul.
The works were created using watercolor and a dye made from various flowers given to me during an abhishek ceremony in Alandi, India. at the shrine of the 13th century saint Jnaneshwar Maharaj in 2010. The flower offerings were made by thousands of pilgrims, some who walked hundreds of miles to offer their devotion.
The paintings are mounted on acid-free museum board and are framed in a contemporary beveled white wood frame. Biodegradable foamboard is used as a backing material. Framing, shipping and packing is included in sale price.
May the blessings of multitudes infuse this work.
As with the large India pieces, 10% of the proceeds of sale will go to Adhishthana’s programs for children in India.
